Blending Engineering with Automation Expertise

My name is Ron Auer. I specialize in building intelligent, no-code automation systems that help businesses work smarter—not harder. With over 30 years of experience as a systems engineer and project manager, I bring a deep understanding of process optimization, systems thinking, and solution design to every project I undertake.

After a long and fulfilling career in telecommunications and systems engineering, I’ve transitioned into a new chapter where I help organizations harness tools like Make.com, Zapier, and n8n to automate tasks, streamline operations, and boost efficiency — all without writing a single line of code.

My unique ability to combine technical know-how with an intuitive understanding of how people and processes interact is what sets me apart. My approach is not just about plugging tools together — designing elegant, resilient systems that work in the real world.

From Complex Systems to Smart Automation

My foundation in engineering began in the United States Air Force in 1971, where I served as a Telecommunications Control Specialist. After multiple assignments, including seven years in England and earning my Associate in Applied Science in Telecommunications Systems Control Technology, I transitioned to civilian life in 1980 to pursue a degree in electronics.

Shortly after, I joined The MITRE Corporation, where I served for 33 years as a systems engineer and project manager, supporting government clients in aviation, defense, and cybersecurity. My work at MITRE required precision, creativity, and the ability to solve complex, high-stakes problems — qualities I bring to my automation practice today.

Why Automation?

When I retired from MITRE in 2013, I didn’t slow down. I saw a new opportunity emerging — the rise of AI and no-code automation. Drawing from my engineering background, I quickly became proficient in tools like Make.com, Zapier, and n8n, using them to automate everything from lead generation and customer communication to backend operations and internal workflows.

These tools let me do what I’ve always done best: solve real problems, increase efficiency, and build systems that just work.

Still a Craftsman at Heart

While automation is my primary focus, I still enjoy hands-on projects. I also have over 30 years of experience in woodworking and home improvement, and I often apply the same level of detail and problem-solving to home projects as I do to automation flows. Whether it’s customizing a living space or refining a workflow, I believe that great design is both beautiful and functional.
